Tabata Something Else
Thirty-two intervals of bodyweight fury with nowhere to hide.
The workout (Tabata)
- 32 intervals of 20 seconds work / 10 seconds rest:
- 8 intervals of Pull-ups
- 8 intervals of Push-ups
- 8 intervals of Sit-ups
- 8 intervals of Air squats
- No rest between the four movements
Estimated time: 16 min fixed · score = total reps. This is thirty-two twenty-on, ten-off intervals stacked across four movements with no rest between them, so it feels like a relentless bodyweight grind. Unlike a standard Tabata scored by your worst round, here every rep adds up, which rewards you for pushing hard even as fatigue sets in. Come out controlled on the pull-ups so you don't blow up your grip, then keep chipping honest reps all the way to the last squat.
Standards
- 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest for each interval
- The only transition is moving straight from the last pull-up interval to the first push-up, and so on
- Score is the total number of reps completed across all 32 intervals
- This differs from standard Tabata scoring, which counts only the lowest single interval
Scaling
- Use banded or jumping pull-ups to keep reps flowing across all eight intervals
- Drop to push-ups from the knees once full push-ups slow down
- Reduce to 4 intervals per movement for a shorter 8-minute version
Coaching tips
- Pick a sustainable rep number per interval and protect it; blowing up early tanks your later scores.
- Use the 10-second rests to shake out and reset your grip, especially on pull-ups.
- Count out loud or track a running total so you stay honest as fatigue builds.
